Information on Mayor stamps for Citizenship Certificates using Quick Dry Ink

Overview: If you will be stamping the certificates in batches at a time, then it is possible to use a self-inker with quick dry ink, as the pad will need to be removed from the unit and stored in a zip lock bag between batches. If the pad is left in the unit, it’s the same as leaving the lid off a Sharpie.

If you intend to stamp the certificates in “one at a time as needed” manner, then we recommend a handle stamp with a separate ink pad, as it’s generally more efficient.

We understand the maximum area is 60x30mm, and the signature cannot be larger than the minister's signature. As signature shapes can vary greatly, the best way to determine the correct sized unit (or handle stamp) for your needs, is to send us the signature, along with the exact text you require underneath. We'll then send you a proof of the signature with text "at size".

Signature sending: please have the Mayor sign an A4 piece of paper three times using a good quality black pen or felt tip pen. Scan the signed paper (as/to PDF) at 100% scale and the highest resolution dpi your scanner will allow – 600dpi is good, 800 is great, 1000 is fantastic. Please send as an attachment and not embedded in an email.

Self-inking: When using quick dry ink in a self-inker, we recommend purchasing a spare dry pad in case the “in-use” pad accidentally gets left in the unit and dries out.

Handle Stamp: we can supply a dry pad for use with the quick dry ink, and because you only ink part of the surface area as your “in use” area, there’s no need to order a spare.

Ink Options for either self-inking or handle stamp:

15ml Shiny non-porous (16.32 + GST) or 25ml Colop 809 quick dry (22.64 + GST)

These both do the same job, the difference is in the volume and price, so the 15ml would do for 500 certificates, but for 1000 or more, we recommend the 30ml. Longevity of stamps, pads and ink depends on a combination of usage, storage and time in general. All quick dry stamps are supplied with instructions for use, and a ziplock pad to store the pad/s in when not in use.
